Sleepy Lizzie

  • Authentic Words
  • The Visual Story

Lizzie the sleepy lizard is a resident of my backyard.

She is also a paraplegic having lost the use of her back legs. Now that the weather has warmed up she has come of hibernation and appears each day in the same place ready for a feed of fresh fruit and flowers.

This week she has taken a fancy to kiwi fruit (at 50c each…another mouth to feed!)

It has taken almost two years to gain her trust but she now comes when I call.

We are getting quite fond of one another!
